Extended Producers Responsibility (EPR) in Bihar

Extended Producer Responsibility is a set of Rules and Regulations for the protection of the environment, introduced by the Central Pollution Control Board. Extended Producer Responsibility mainly complies with different Producers, Importers, and Brand-owners. EPR mainly focuses on the aspects of Post-industrial and Post-consumer plastic waste, which enables them to recycle the material for the betterment of the environment.

Bihar State Pollution Control Board (BSPCB) was inaugurated in the year 1974, from its inception they have been planning and executing different rules for prohibiting pollution in the state. They have been counseling the state government on the matter of environmental hazards. Inspection of different factories and treatment plants for pollution-free working in the state. In order to comply with EPR Obligation a PIBO’s needs to follow the following simple steps,

Step 1: Registration on with Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) & Bihar State Pollution Control Board (BSPCB)

Step 2: Collection of Waste through an authorized waste management agency

Step 3: Collection & Aggregation of Relevant Documents

Step 4: Quarterly Report Submission to CPCB

Step 5: Submission of Annual Report on Extended Producers Responsibility Liability Fulfillment.
